Gulab Jamun

Gulab jamun, famous sweet in north India………there is no any occasion without this sweet in their place……………I loveeeeee this …………when I made first time the thing was it became brown out but it was not properly cooked inside then I understood where I went wrong and my next try was soooo nice……..this is easy to make just the thing is frying part should be take care………….my kids love this so I make these at home now a days………



















Ingredients:

2c Milk powder
½ tsp Baking soda
¼ c Milk
¼ c Maida
3tbsp Butter
Oil for frying

For Syrup:

1½c Sugar
1c Water
½ tsp Rose water
½ tsp Cardamom powder
½ tsp Lime juice


















Method:

1.Mix milkpowder,baking soda,maida and put butter and crumble with the fingers.
2.Now add the milk little at a time and knead it to a dough.
3.Let it rest for 15 to 20 mins.
4.Now grease the hands and make small balls out of the dough.
5.In a pan mix sugar and water for the syrup.
6.Boil it till the syrup thickens and pour rose water,lime juice and cardamom powder to it.
7.Now heat oil in a kadai for frying the jamuns.
8.The heat of the oil should be low.
9.Fry the jamuns till golden brown.It may take 6 to 7 mins to fry the jamuns.
10.When the jamuns are brown in color drain out the excess oil and put to the warm sugar syrup.
11.Let the jamuns sit and cool and absorb the syrup.
12.Garnish with sliced pistachios and serve.
